Amor e Intrigas

It will be braodcasted today after the national TV news, at 20h30 on channel 13 - Rede Record, the new NOVELA called " Amor e Intrigas". The soap opera tells the story of ALICE who has left the familiy in a small town inland in Minas Gerais to come to live in RIO. Alice - the main feminine character - is going to settle in Santa Teresa, at "Pensao da Celeste".



In reality this place is CASTELINHO38, who has land its beautifully and recently restyled facade to Rede Record in order to cover all the external shooting for the Novela.



Our Guests and staff became now aquainted to the running around of people, actors, cameras and lights. And probably for some of them it is even an amazing story to tell back home as all has to cross the spotlights and the strick control in order to leave or to get into the Castelinho38.



We are all very curious to see how C38 looks like on TV, and finally from tonight, for at least the next 8 months, we will be on the screens of millions of brazilians daily.....what a responsability..yes, but we are ready to SHINE!!!

C38 on national TV NEWS

We ve received a very special visit the other day from a TV reporter who was covering the next Soap Opera ( Tele Novela ) to be launched on Rede Record next week.



One of the main location will be the neighbourhod of SAnta Teresa, and the coincidence is that the main character will be living in a guesthouse...which is in real life OUR Guesthouse...



We spent a nice afternoon together with the Reporter Ana Paola and Cameraman Eduardo Curi, shooting at Castelinho38 and Santa Teresa s views. It s always interesting to see how much work and preparation is behind the few minutes that goes live during the NEWS.



We can t hide ourselves anymore all the country is watching, so more news about the NOVELA, starting the 20th on national channel will be coming soon

European Tour 07 - part 2

Castelinho38 delagation went to Madrid in order to meet AMINA, an italian friend living there. Our ambassador Fabio has been very well treated and enjoyed the tapas bar and Madrid night's life very much.



Amsterdam was another place where Castelinho38 had some friends to see. WICO MULDER who spent a few days with us together with his sister Margit, has been a great host and Fabio decided to put Amsterdam at the top of his list...no wonder why..



C38 tour in Europe lasted 1 month and touched Madrid,Toledo, Barcelona, Paris, Venice, TRIESTE, Rome, Bruxelles and Amsterdam. More details on the next stops are coming soon

Aprazivel Cooking Experience

Castelinho38 has been kindly invited to partecipate(together with Solar de Santa, Marriot Hotels, Sofitel RIO and Ipanema Plaza) to a freshly new Cultural Experience perfectly organized by Marcio Macedo, founder and director of CURUMIM ECO CULTURAL TOURS (www.curumim.tur.br)



The Cooking Experience starts in the morning with a visit to one of Rio's typical feiras - open markets.. Along with the pleasure of choosing some of the ingredients that will be part of the meal, the colorful scenery and the exuberant tastes and smells are part of this experience.



We then arrived in Santa Teresa where Aprazível, one of the most charming and best regarded restaurants in Rio de Janeiro, is located.



A wine and a cachaça cellar and an open and inviting kitchen set the stage for a unique Brazilian culinary experience. There are 3 courses - appetizer, main dish and desert - that are prepared using recipes from the many different regions in the country and that represent the rich influence of Indians, Africans and Europeans, ethnical components of the Brazilian cuisine.



During the meal all of the recipe's details, preparation tips and the history of each dish are candidly presented by the chef and enthusiasts are encouraged to participate.

European Tour 07 - part 1

Castelinho38 decided to go on its first European Tour in october, in order to visit some of its friends and guests.
Our manager Fabio has been the ambassador of Castelinho38 and one of the most important mission was to reestablish contact with our friends Jean-Charles Auria, filmaker who spent residency at our premises during 3 months last year( June-August 06).
Jean Charles is a french rastaman from south of France now living in Paris, who developped together with Rosa, Castelinho38 LOGO and concept.



Rosa has now became a chef and is attending the most famous culinary school in Paris where she lives with Jean Charles, she s graduated in Communication and together with the LOGO she has selected our COLOURS, and help ILAN with the web page. For those of you who had the chance to experience her culinary skills and her sweetnees, I am sure you don t forget her.



Not too far from them, Fabio went to meet ILAN WEISS our very first webmaster and photographer, who now lives in Bruxelles where he studies Films. Ilan is mexican from DF, and we had the pleasure to have him at Castelinho38 during his stay in RIO from July to September 06.

Fabio assures us that they are doing fine and we hope to see them soon back in RIO....muita saudades..LOVE38

Guest of the month 11/07

Invited in Rio by the FESTIVAL PANORAMA ( International Contemporary Dance Festival) in order to develop his next project, JUAN ANTONIO DOMINGUEZ spent 20 days in our premises and has been elected our guest of NOVEMBER.
He is an unconventional character, a Spaniard living in Berlin, whose art is a mix between dance and an ability to recycle everyday life’s activities. An interpreter, performancer, choreographer and the managing artistic of In-Presentable Festival, but among all a great character and always joking style of person. He spent most of his days working hard, meeting people and developping his next project " de la...a la..." together with his friend Xavier Le Roy ( already a guest of us during the last year Panorama Festival), but he has definetly conquered Castelinho38s staff for his humor, kindness and tortillas.
We are going to miss you querido JUAN, keep in touch!!
