Salvador by the sea

Many of our guests after visiting Rio de Janeiro decide to go to Salvador de Bahia, former capital of the country in the 18th century, Salvador has a lot to see and to experience.

Beeing the second biggest bay in the world, the sea is always one of the best way to understand the city and its unique location. The ferry terminal, in front of Mercado Modelo(handkraft centre) is a very busy place.

From there you can visit the other islands inside the bay like Ilha de Itaparica and many others destinations, but most of everything it s a perfect way to get away of the crowd and caos of the big cities like this one.

Our recommendation is to stay in the neighborhood of Santo Antonio, just above the port area and practically the natural extension of Pelourinho. Pousada das Flores manager/owner Eric, has just opened a new space called Pousada des Arts, that really worth to be checked out!

From Salvador Ferry terminal the top destination is Morro de Sao Paulo also know as Ilha de Tinharè, just a couple of hours away from Salvador and a confortable (depending on the sea conditions) Catamaran ride.
We ll tell you more about Morro on the next post, now enjoy the views of Salvador by the sea.
