FotoRio 2009

We are closing the month of MAY announcing another great ART event, which will open the month of June, on tuesday 2nd we ll be presenting the photos exhibition of Luiz Frota and Moskow, two brazilian photographers who are taking part of the FotoRio 2009.
Football and Circus are the theme of this photos exhibition that will stay along the all month of June. For the opening the famous Vegan Chef Ze Roberto will prepare a special buffet for all the guests. Absolutely unmissable!

Greatest Brazilian shoes designer Gil Schvartz, "o Beto", recently passed away, has left an incredible collections of shoes, now presented for the first time to the public here at Castelinho38, next sunday 31 of MAY from 13hs untill 21h. Unmissable! Great buffet and drinks served - performance and catwalk-videoprojection, and special prices and occasions!!

Zouloup4 le Roi

Zouloup4 is opening his exhibition " Mascarade" next saturaday 23rd of May, from 18h30 at C38 gallery. Part of the OFF programme -France in Brasil Cultural year, this very special "exposition" is gathering the last paintings of "the King of Bergerac " showed for the first time in South America. Vraiment GENIAL!!

FLIST

Santa Teresa has its own Literary Festival now, FLIST the Festa Literaria de Santa Teresa was born yestarday at 9am at Castelinho38, where hundreds of people came to have breakfast with us and took part to the opening of the festival with its invited author Lygia Bojunga.

Lygia is one of the best novelist for young readers and has won many international literary prices, she gave a touching and spontaneous speach about the creative process of writting and the importance of reading. Many queued in lines to great her and have her books signed for her.

Flist Festival has been a great initiative of the CEAT (Santa Teresa main school) that has gather a lot of people in the neighbourhod and invited many artists and important people.
At C38 we had a busy and lovely time with our visitors and the presence of Atelier Azulejaria with a little stand of the their art works over ceramics.

Our staff and friends Santiago and Iuri were perfect in the operational process of providing food, coffee and smiles to our guests, thanks to all and congratulation for the FLIST, we hope the very first of a long serie.

Some picture of the launching of Mariana Dias' poetry book last saturday at C38. Where together with poetry and nice people, there were performances, an incredible full moon, amazing decorations and good vibes.

Our female dog ZUZU is celebrating mother s day, as she had in total 18 Rhodesian Ridgback and 1 black Dalmatian Ridgeback.
The last born is now 2 months and has been named Obama.

Hendricks family

Our dutch friend Olaf came to visit us, and this time together with his lovely family and Robert Jan,a good friend of them. Olaf is responsible for showing the hidden gems of Latin America to the dutch public, being the founder and director of Olafreisen.
Olaf is an expert of South America, this time was travelling in Colombia and Peru before meeting his family in Sao Paulo. From there they first chilled out in the natural pool of Vilavolta, Paraty-Mirim and then enjoyed the stunning view from our terrace-bar and the dogs.
They are a great family, and the youngsters Bas and Pete are adorable children!
It has been a lovely, but short time we have shared together here @ c38, now enjoy the rest of your Brazilian trip, but come be back soon.
